You can't outsource everything.

Gauntlet.ca came into existence in it's current incarnation a couple of years ago when a server that I was running in my home kicked the bucket. I decided then that it was no longer worth the effort of trying to maintain server software, and that I would rely on Blogger to do that for me.I was still using a friend's name server, however, and after many years of admirable service that server unexpectedly passed away over a month ago. Since then, gauntlet.ca has existed only in the electronic imagination of the Blogger servers. But exist it did.Forces conspired to keep me from getting it back up and running, and it has now been well over a month since gauntlet.ca graced the blogosphere with its presence. Still, this is an unacceptable failing on my part, and I dutifully submit myself to the appropriate degree of virtual flogging via the "comments" link below. Go ahead. I deserve it.Such outages should be so brief as to be insignificant in future, as everything about gauntlet.ca is now being done by professionals. That is, everything but the writing.
