I'll be studying while I watch the results on TV. Here's what I'll be looking for:
- Elizabeth May - Does the exposure of a nationally televised leaders debate trump the exposure of two and a half years as a Minister?Prediction: No.
- Coalition Math - Will the Liberals and the NDP combined have more seats than the Conservatives? A two-part coalition is a lot easier to hold together, and doesn't require anyone to give any significant power to the separatists.Prediction: It's close, but no.
- Calgary Grit - how close were his seat projections to the actual results?Prediction: Remarkably close given the fact that they do not take into account local conditions.
- Jim Ford - when you have a conservative run a strong campaign in protest against the Conservative candidate in Alberta, what is the most you can expect?Prediction: Ford will finish second with between 15% and 20% of the vote.
- Linda Duncan - can she stop the Tory sweep of Alberta?Prediction: It's close, but no.
Enjoy the election. I'll enjoy a break from this constant reading and writing of politics in addition to my schoolwork.
