About Gauntlet.ca

Gauntlet.ca is a blog focussed on democratic reform in Canada.

Jason is a husband, father of two, has degrees in political science and law from the University of Alberta, and lives with his family in Sherwood Park, Alberta.

Gauntlet.ca 3.0

This blog started out life as a Scoop site running on an old computer that ran Linux on the floor of my apartment. Five years (and two homes) later I ran out of the floor-space and patience to be dealing with my own hardware, and so I decided to switch to a blogger site hosted on a friend's server. I've been blogging in more or less that format for the last four and a half years.

Book Review Suggestions?

My list of future book reviews is down to 1 book, and I purchased the last copy of "The Political Brain"  in Edmonton yesterday, so the list will soon be empty.Do you have any suggestions for what should be added to the list?  Let me know.  I'm more likely to review it if it has practical implications for the practice of democracy.

How my last month went...

So yeah. I might take some time off.[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZP5DCXD8vc&hl=en&fs=1]

New Logo!

I know you'll all be excited... Gauntlet.ca has a new logo!  Yes... that checkmark in a circle thing was supposed to be a stylized capital "G".  I think this one works better. Enjoy!

Gauntlet.ca in AlbertaViews

I just got my complementary copy of AlbertaViews in the mail. Complementary, because they edited and reprinted by Black Swann post of a while ago.But of course, you've already read that post. You'll want to get the magazine because the page I'm printed on contains very tasteful nudity.

I'm Getting To It, I Promise

Yes, I was at the democratic renewal event in Edmonton on Monday. Yes, it was fascinating. Yes, I'm going to blog on the experience. Just give me time.
