Democratic Renewal Project Launches Website

Thanks to Matt Grant for the comment letting me know that the Democratic Renewal Project has a website up.The DRP is a group that I first heard about at a democratic renewal meeting held in Edmonton last July.  One of the attendees said that he was starting it up, and wanted help.

Cynic mode, ENGAGED!

So the ERCB is going to do something, gosh darn it, about those pesky tailings ponds.

'A Party called "Liberal" cannot win in Alberta'

Jeremy Loome makes a strong case that the Alberta Liberal Party needs to change its name, not just its policies.  "A Marlboro is still a Marlboro,"  he says. He's right.  But is the PC party in this province going to roll over and let everyone forget that this "new" party used to be called "Liberal"?

a small group

Tiny Perfect Blog brought my attention to a story in the Calgary Herald about this group of people trying to start a new political party. Maybe.[Update: Check the comments for TPB's take...]

Can the ALP be saved?

Interesting conversation going on over at Daveberta.ca.

Awesomeness

First, care of Rick Mercer, care of Calgary Grit.Second, care of Alberta: Get Rich or Die Trying.

What the heck?

Gauntlet.ca in AlbertaViews

I just got my complementary copy of AlbertaViews in the mail. Complementary, because they edited and reprinted by Black Swann post of a while ago.But of course, you've already read that post. You'll want to get the magazine because the page I'm printed on contains very tasteful nudity.

An insider's look at the future of Alberta politics

For almost a month now, I've been involved in this group of people that has been called the "futility faction", the "revolution group", the "edmonton group", and any number of other silly things. This is the group of people that Daveberta has recently blogged about being involved in. Dave was the one who invited me to join.

It's not easy being green.

It seems Liberals are not the only ones in Alberta sick of fighting against their brand instead of with it.
