February 2008

It's Time.

The Alberta Liberal Party today released its platform for the coming election, entitled "It's Time. A Real Action Plan for Alberta."

Alberta Votes 2008: Day 1

Well, I've been appointed the election-day chair for the Sandeep Dhir campaign in Edmonton-Manning. So today was an even bigger day than it might otherwise have been.

Alberta Votes 2008: Day 2

It occurs to me that it might be useful to provide a little primer on how an election campaign is structured.

Sometimes, you just don't want to know.

In political campaigns, a lot of value is put in polling data.CNN right now is providing very detailed results from exit polls that it is performing in Super Tuesday states. That link goes to the California Democratic results.

Alberta Votes 2008: Day 3

I really need to go to campaign meetings. There was a campaign meeting last night that I missed due to important family commitments, but it just totally throws all communication out the window when you're not at the meeting.

Alberta Votes 2008: Day 4

Well, I spent a little time at the campaign office today. Sandeep is working his butt off hitting the streets every day, even when the temperature is enough to kill an ox.

Red Deer 10th Graders weigh in on Stelmach

Wow. With reviews like this, who needs opponents?

Alberta Votes 2008: Day 5 - A different Ed

We had an interesting story at the campaign office last night. A gentleman by the name of Ed came into the office. Ed is homeless. He has developmental disabilities, so he can't support himself. That means he doesn't eat very well, which means that he is malnourished, which means he no longer has teeth.

Pollspammed by the NDP

I'm honoured that the NDP has evidently seen fit to list me among the locations that their... scarce... human resources should be spent. I just regret that instead of joining in conversation, they've decided to poll-spam.In the interest of openness and democracy, I'd like to invite the other parties represented to throw their best poll spamming at me.Let's see which party can poll spam better than the rest. That'll tell us who to vote for.

Alberta Votes 2008: Day 10

It's been a while since I've had the chance to sit down and tell you about my experience on the campaign trail. Things have been busy, in all directions.
